The Stewart Island/Rakiura Community Environment Trust is a non-profit organisation formed in 2002 by Stewart Islanders enthusiastic about protecting and enhancing the environment and community of Stewart Island.

The Trust
SIRCET's board is comprised of five members of the local community. All trustees are volunteers passionate about SIRCET's goals. The Trust is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the longevity and sustainability of the various Trust projects and making sure our goals and visions are achieved.

Employees
SIRCET employs three staff members.  Their role is to carry out the day to day operation of SIRCET's projects.

Project Administrator - Alina Thiebes
The Project Administrator manages communication, administration and education outreach within the community in relation to the Halfmoon Bay Habitat Restoration Project and other such projects undertaken by the trust. Alina manages the Rakiura Environment Centre and coordinates the trust's membership and sponsorship programs.

Pest Manager - Denise Hayes
The Pest Manager oversees the pest control within the project area. This involves co-ordinating and supporting volunteers. Denise also manages the Community Native Plant Nursery in Horseshoe Bay, and coordinates pest control workshops including education days for visiting school or international groups.

The Accounts Administrator is responsible for SIRCET's accounts.
