Environment Centre

The Environment Centre is centrally located in the Halfmoon Bay township. It is the first point of call for visitors to the island who want to know more about the local environment and about SIRCET's projects. A great interactive and learning facility that appeals to people of all ages.

Here visitors can get close up to titi/sooty shearwater chick by watching our rare nest camera footage. You can learn more about trapping the pests which threaten these chicks. Also available for viewing are other media releases which feature the project, its work and its volunteers.

Visitors can follow the progress of our Sponsor-a-Hectare (SaH) program on the SaH map (below), we currently have around 20 hectares remaining for sponsorship to reach our goal of 50% by the end of the 2011-12 summer. So come and choose your favourite spot, they're going fast!
The Environment Centre has recently received a complete makeover, so come and check out our new information panels!
